| Bio: | My name is Boris, I'm 20, I'm at student at Syracuse University, I like a lot of girls, and I love writing. _ _ What is a Modern Prometheus? I'm not very sure, but apparently, Prometheus was some guy who decided he was going to steal fire from the gods and give it to people, so he did, changing the way the world would forever be. Great guy to name your blog after, right? Well, there's more to Prometheus than that. The people he gave the fire to burned him alive. Then again, because of his fearless effort, light was possible. Sure, he pissed everybody off, but he was an innovator who cared more about his own goals than some bullshit the Greeks made up to scare people into not questioning authority. If you look into Christian mythology, there's a Prometheus there, too, but with a different name. "Light-bearer," or "Bearer of Dawn," in Latin is lux ferre, which is how the name "Lucifer" came to be. And if you haven't gotten my point yet - Lucifer tempted Eve into eating the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, thereby giving humanity the ability to learn and to know things that it wasn't supposed to know. Creation myths are very similar, even if they're from different eras. Once you touch something for the first time, its effects will never go away. Whether you notice or not, conciously or not, any minute piece of sound or sight or smell or taste leaves you much like Adam and Eve - Banished from the Garden and free of innocence. I've created a new journal because I feel I've outgrown my old one. The purposes of this journal are simple - Exploration and documentation. Exploration of a new chapter in my life and documentation of the new knowledge that I have acquired.
